The Dayton Bombers Youth Hockey Squirt "A" Team, playing out of the Kettering Recreation Center, finished the 1995-96 league season with a shut-out victory in the Greater Cincinnati Youth Hockey League tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 24 and 25.

The GCYHL is made up of teams from Dayton, Troy, Athens. Oxford, Cincinnati, Hamilton. Northern Kentucky, and Louisville.

The Squirt Team, consisting of 9 and 10-year-olds from all over the Miami Valley, whipped Athens (8-O), Oxford (11-0), and Hamilton (4-O) to earn the tournament title.

The GCYHL tourney capped an 11-0-1 league season and league championship for the Squirts.

The team traveled to Northern Kentucky March 9 and 10 to compete in the Hot Sticks tournament. The Bombers again dominated play with victories in all four games, over teams from Northern Kentucky, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis.

The Squirt "A" 'team' is currently 34-6-4 overall for the season. The team plays a 45-game schedule, skating at the "A" and "AA" levels, in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and West Virginia. The Bombers will finish their season with the St. Patrick's tournament in Indianapolis March 16 and l7.

The Squirt "A" Team includes area youths Adam Peter and Corey LaVeris of Randolph Township, Tyler Moyer of Brookville and Jonathan Knaier of Union. The team is coached by Walt Peter of Randolph Township, and Tony Scrimenti of Kettering; with assistant coaches Barry Blalock and Curt Rollo. Bauer Roofing and Siding, Inc. is the team sponsor.
