Dsytou North Soccer Camp July 27
The 18th annual Dayton North Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 7-18 will be held July 27- July 31. Hours for the camp are 9:00 to 4:00. The camp is located behind Northmont High School on the soccer practice fields.

Ambush '85 Tryouts set
The Northmont Ambush '85 boys soccer team is holding tryouts for boys born after August 1, 1985.
There will be a parent meeting June 5 at 7 p.m. inside the government center.
Tryouts will be Saturday, June 6, from 9 - 11 a.m. and Sunday, June 7, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Englewood Goverunent Center.

Par For POPPS Golf Outing Date Set
Hey golfers, keep June 27 open! That's the date for this year's Par For POPPS golf outing, sponsored by Northmont's Parents Of Past Players (POPPS).
Using a scramble format, POPPS chose Penn Terra Golf Club in Lewisburg for their ninth annual golf outing. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgnn start. (A rain date of July 18 has been set.)
The fee for Par For POPPS includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes and lunch. Proceeds go to the Northmont football program.

N.A.B.L Fish Fry/Monte Carlo Scheduled
The Northmont Amateur Baseball League is having a Fish Fry/Monte Carlo party on Saturday, June 13 starting at 6 p.m.
This party will be held at the City of Union V.F.W. on Main Street in Union, Ohio to raise money for a storage facility needing built. Come for all the fish you can eat, plus side dishes, and afterward play some games and win some prizes!

T-Bolt Basketball Camp Scheduled
The T-Bolt Basketball Camp, directed by Nonhrnont coach Jim Brown, will offer two sessions this summer. The frrst session will be June 22-26, followed by a second session June 29 - July 3.
The T-Bolt basketball camp is an individual basketball camp that stresses the development of basketball fundamentals. In each session instructors will focus tbeir attention on individual campers, who are placed into competitive groups according to their ages and abilities.
Each camper will receive instruction in all the fundamentals of the game, such as passing, shooting, dribbling, ball handling, screening, rebounding,and offensive and defensive footwork. For more information call 429-0089.

Northmont Girls Vollgrball Camp slated
The Northmont Volleyball Camp will be held July 27-30 at Northmont High School. The volleyball camp will be for girls who have just completed grades 3 through 8. For an application or information, please call Jim Smith at 832-4673.

NSSC skills camp and tryouts set
The Northmbnt Select Soccer Club will hold a developmental Skills Camp as well as tryouts in June. Developmental Skills Camps will be held for both girls and boys. The boys camp will be held June 8-9-10 at the Centennial Park soccer complex on Union Road from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Boys tryouts are scheduled for June 11 at 6 p.m. with a rain date of June 12.
The girls Developmental Skills Camp will be held lune 15-16-17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., also at Centennial Park. Tryouts will be held June 18 at 6 p.m. with a rain bate of June 19. Cost of the camp for both boys and girls is $20 per child.
The Developmental Skills Camp will be conducted by Northmont High School girls soccer coach Mike Jewsikow.
The camp and tryouts are open to any child with a date of birth falling between Aug. 1, 1984 and July 31, 1990.

Nan Payne Softball Camp scheduled
The IOth Annual "Nan Payne" Camp of Diamonds will he held June 15 through June 19 at Northmont High School Softball Field. The camp is open to all girls in grades 5-12. This camp will display and teach basic and advanced fundamentals of fastpitch softball in the areas of hitting, throwing, fielding and baserunning for. pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders.
Special guest appearance by Miami University Head Softball Coach, Sandy Pearsall.

Northmont Girls Volleyball Camp scheduled The Northmont Volleyball camp is for any girl who is in third through eighth grade. The camp will be held at Northmont High School on July 27- July 30.

S.A.Y. seeks sponsors
The Northmont S.A.Y. Soccer Associntion is currently seeking sponsors for the 1998 soccer season. For a modest fee, a business or individual can sponsor a team.
Team members wear the sponsor's logo from August to October. All announcements and news coverage regarding teams are made using the sponsor's name. With over 1,200 participants, the area exposure is considerable.
As an added benefit, some teams travel so the exposure is broadened. The only income generated for S.A.Y. is through sponsors, concessions and registration fees.

Northmont S.A.Y. Referee Clinic offered
The Northmont S.A.Y. Soccer Association is holding referee training clinics on five straight Tuesdays, starling July 7 and ending Aug. 4.
Meetings will be held in the lower level of the Englewood Government Center and there is a materials fee for the course.
These classes are for all qualified or certified officials and all passer officials. Referees must be 14-years or older. Adult referees are especially needed. All S.A.Y. referees are paid.

Fifth/Third Bank Sponsors 5K Run
The 1998 Americana Festival 5K run is sponsored by Fifth Third Bank and co-sponsored by Miami Valley Hospital Sports Medicine.
The run is set for Saturday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Assisting in the implementation and organization of the run is the Centerville Noon Optimist Club.
The run starts at Centerville High School Stadium, 500 East Franklin Street. Featuring all age groups and participation of the physically disabled, the run follows the parade route from the front of CHS football stadium, down Franklin Street to Magsig Middle School and back to the high school, ending at the track in an Olympic finish.
Taking place on an accurate 5K course, splits are included at every mile with race marshals present. Water stations and restroom facilities are available, as well as post-race refreshments. The finish line is computer clocked. Awards will be given to the Top Male and Female overall winners. Special awards will be presented to the Top 3 plus overall division winners.
Runners should arrive at Centerville High School no later than 8:00 a.m. to avoid incoming parade traffic. Traffic during the event will be maintained by the Centerville Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office.
