ONT>Review of Class 1 Material
- Memory vs. Storage
- Memory is used by the CPU to exercise programs. Programs and files are not stored here. They may reside temporarily in memory, but they are not stored here.
- Storage takes place in the filing cabinets which are the floppy disk, the hard disk, or a CD.
- Data Path
- The path through the computer’s filing system to the proper filing cabinet (disk storage A, B, C, D, etc), the proper drawer in the filing cabinet (folder name), the proper folder within that drawer (subfolder), and finely to the file you are looking for (file).
