Desk Top Controls

Windows 95

A single click on "Settings" will show a list as follows: Control Panel Printers Task Bar Control Panel-Gives you a box with about 20 different things to do. We will cover these below. Printers-Will be covered in detail when we do word processing. Task Bar-Generally, don't mess with this. It just fine tunes some desk top items.

1. Display

• Go to "Control Panel" and double click on the "Display Icon".
• You can change the "Background" Screen Saver" and "Appearance".
• Please do not mess with the "Settings" until you are an experienced user.

1. Date and Time

• If you are just installing Windows 95, or have just purchased a new computer with Windows 95, you will have to correct the date and time here. Otherwise, an incorrect date and time will show up on the "Start" bar at the bottom of your screen.

1. Mouse

• You can adjust the speed and action of the mouse here. If you have a Microsoft "Intelli Point" mouse, you can adjust other mouse activity here.

1. In general, you should not make any other changes in the Windows 95 Control Panel until you become an experienced user
