To the Editor:
Having resided in Randolph Township for 37 years, I have been satisfied with the trustees performance most of the time, and I feel that they are very conscientious in their work.
Sometime ago they met with the officials of Clayton to discuss the possibility of a merger of Clayton and the township to protect our boundaries. After much study it was recommended by the committee to place the proposal on the ballot for residents to vote on in November 1996.
However, Englewood became very unhappy, and filed a lawsuit to prevent the vote. Get this: Englewood wants to deprive us of our guaranteed right to vote. This is a basic right for all residents of Clayton and Randolph Township.
Understand this! No matter if you are pro-merger or not, Englewood wants to deny you the privilege of voting your conviction. Don't let them do it. Voice your disapproval.
