
Salem Church of God 6500 Southway Rd.. Claytan, 45315 recently announced a newly formed Boy Scout Troop. Troop 65 is currently meeting on Sunday evenings from 6 - 7:30 p.m., in room 201. The troop invites any boy with scouting experience, or simply interested in scouting, from the ages of 11-15 to join. Tbe 1996 calendar is already planned with exciting activities to promote surrvival skills, leadership training, and to encourage responsibility and a positive self-image. For yonnger boys in Cub Scouts - consider visiting Troop 65 when you are ready to bridge over to Boy Scouts.
They are also "scouting' for men or women interested in working with scouts on a regular basis. Having a son in the troop is not a requirement to participate. Your time and energy given guiding the development of uoung men to become self-reliant and productive will be a most rewarding exrperience for all concerned.

Cub Scout Pack 325 held their annual Pinewood Derby Race on Feb. 15, 1997 at the Englewood Government Center. Twenty-six boys from the pack participated. The boys, using a kit, design and build a car that can weigh no more than 5 ounces. The cars are then raced down an inclined gravity track to determine the 4 fastest cars. The top four cars proceed on to a District Race. This years winners are all from Den #9 a Bear Den. 4th place Michael Vent, 3rd place Kyle Dicke, 2nd place Ryan Guthrie, and lst place Jonathan Heady with Den Leader Dave Heady. Congratulations to these boys and Good Luck at the District Race on March 22 at O.R. Edgington Elementary.
The cars are also judged on their appearance with 1st and 2nd place trophies given in the following categories: Best Looking Car, Most Radical Car, and Best Paint Job. The boys are only allowed to receive one appearance award. The six winners are: Best Looking Car 1st Adam Mesher, 2nd Michael Vent, Most Radical Car - 1st Kody Edwards, 2nd Tim Reynolds, Best Paint Job - 1st Ricky Cantrell, 2nd Sam Rowley.
